Building & ESG

a new identity for Milano Centrale

A native ESG project.

Michelangelo represents a pioneering initiative that goes beyond evolution in business. Not only does it redefine Milan's urban skyline, but also the very standards of sustainability and social responsibility in the real estate context.

The construction

Urban mining and circularity.

Michelangelo's construction process boldly embraces urban mining and the principles of sustainable construction. A manifesto of how innovation in construction can drive change, demonstrating that building for the future means building with responsibility.

Urban mining
The transformation and reuse of waste materials obtained from the demolition of the former Hotel Michelangelo.
Green grafts
The inclusion of gardens, green areas, plants and essences for the establishment of better working environments.
bio materials
The use of materials with low environmental impact, which combine sustainability, aesthetic quality and functional well-being.

iconic and transparenT

Michelangelo emerges as architecturally iconic in the panorama of Central Milan: it is elegantly integrated into the urban fabric of the neighborhood in a visual combination of interior and exterior.
The facade
Dynamism
and verticality

The façade is configured as Michelangelo's most dynamic element: glass plays a predominant role, both as an element of transparency and as a compositional motif, thanks to the cusp elements that vary their inclination in proportion to the vertical height. On specific levels, the façade opens, revealing the natural elements contained within it. This architectural concept not only reflects a dynamic design, but also Michelangelo's ability to integrate harmoniously with its environment, offering a constantly evolving visual experience.

Sustainability and Innovation

Towards LEED Platinum Certification and the Carbon Neutral objective

The MI.C is not only committed to achieving LEED Platinum, BREEAM and Wired Certification through the efficient use of resources, but it also aspires to achieve the Carbon Neutral target. With an approach that aims to reduce carbon emissions, the project aims to minimize waste and to contribute to the management, reduction and neutralization of greenhouse gas emissions, with a strong commitment to long-term environmental sustainability and eco-efficiency.

LEED
The LEED certification, issued by the U.S. Green Building Council, assesses the sustainability of buildings, focusing on environmental and social aspects such as reduced water and energy consumption, reduced CO2 emissions and the use of eco-sustainable materials.

The MI.C aims to obtain Platinum certification following the criteria of LEED BD+C v4 Core&Shell.
WELL
The WELL Building Standard™ version 2 is a certification system aimed at improving the health and well-being of workers. Based on the most recent scientific research, WELL v2 promotes a culture of health through design strategies, selection of healthy materials and operational protocols.

The MI.C aims to obtain WELL v2 CORE certification at the Gold level.
BREEAM
The BREEAM certification measures the adoption of sustainable practices through parameters that establish precise criteria for the design and construction of healthy, energy efficient buildings with low environmental impact.

The MI.C aims to obtain BREEAM certification.
A Project signed by Park Associati
Founded in Milan in 2000 by Filippo Pagliani and Michele Rossi, Park Associati deals with architectural design, urban planning, landscape, interior and product design. The study approach is open, analytical, pragmatic and calibrated, strengthened by tradition but capable of generating new linguistic codes thanks to a process that combines listening, intuition and experimentation.

Whether it's the new skyscraper in the Lombardy Region, the headquarters of Luxottica or Salewa, a domestic space, a luxury boutique by Hermés, Brioni or Canali around the world, the retrofitting of a modern Milanese building or the regeneration of an entire neighborhood, every project represents an opportunity for Park Associati to seek innovative and tailor-made solutions, aligned with quality and attention to the human being.
